Chapter -2 : The Island From The East (Part 1) [Task:Solo]

Task Description:

I has been a few hours after the accident in the sea and the storm has already stopped. Hexller was washed up to a shore of an island nearby. Hexller woke up after a huge wave splashed on his unconscious body in the sand. He spat salt water and sat up, he looked around to see where he is. The place looked isolated and only the crashes of waves are heard.

Hexller: Ughh.. What the heck.. Where am I?

Hexller rubbed his face as he stood up. He was all wet and covered in sand. Hexller walked towards the the tall thick trees, hoping that he can find some food or even shelter. He took out his staff from his vest and extended it, he doesn't know what's lurking in the island, he need defend himself. He spun it around to shake of the water on it and scanned the area. He took off his shirt and his vest and hung them on a tree branch to dry them up. Then he remembered the reason he had to sail away...

Hexller: No! They could be gone already!

He scurried back to the shore and looked for the small boat he used, it was nowhere to be found. Without knowing, tears are falling from Hexller's cheeks as he picture his parents being hanged. Sadness and rage filled him as he knelt in the sand. He grabbed a fistful of sand and tossed it in the air as he shouted. There is nothing he can to in his current situation. He laid down in the sand for a few hours before coming back up.

Hexller: I need to move on, nothing can change it.

Hexller wiped his face as he slowly stood up. He picked up his clothes which has dried up a bit and wore them. He continued moving through the thick forest with his staff on. Hexller accepted the fact that his parents are now hanged by the government by this time. He thought to himself how it was all his fault that his parents have died, how he had failed on saving them from their execution. Hexller stopped on his tracks and sat down on a small boulder, his thoughts are filled with mental images of his parents dying, he can't handle it anymore, tears started to fall again. Then he heard what sounds like someone or something moving on top of the trees, he chose to ignore it. A few moments later, arrows rained from the top of the trees. Hexller immediately spun his staff to deflect the arrows. He may be very depressed at the moment but he's not yet ready to die.

Hexller: Come out! Show yourselves!

Tribesman: Intruder! Intruder!

He is filled with anger and despair, he is willing to attack anything at this point. Five men dropped from the tall trees, shouting and wailing with their spears ready to pierce Hexller as they fall, he dodged their spears as the fell to the ground. Hexller deflected their spears with his staff as they strike him. Hexller's anger is filling up. This is a good time to show the tricks he learned with his new staff.

Hexller: Rapid Spin!

Hexller spun his staff as he shout, hitting all five making them unconscious. Hexller was breathing heavily looking at them as they fall to the ground. He looked up and saw more arrows falling down. He ran forward as fast as he can as he dodge the falling arrows.

Hexller: Come fight me! All of you!

Hexller looked up and decided to go for those who were shooting at him. He jumped up branch to branch as he dodged incoming arrows. As he reach the top of the tree, three more men were there wielding bows this time around. They wailed and screamed at Hexller and charged him.

Hexller: Rapid Stab!

Hexller managed to hit them all and sent them falling down the tree. More of them are coming towards him. Hexller hurried forward, jumping from tree to tree as he dodge more arrows coming towards him. Two of them threw their spears at Hexller although he deflected them with a spin of his staff. Hexller looked back as he ran,

Hexller: Where are these people coming from?

Without knowing, there are no more trees to jump on to. Hexller fell down to the ground. three more men surrounded him with spears pointed at him as he lay down the floor. One of those who were surrounding him spoke to him.

Tribesman: You! Who are you?!

Hexller: I'm Alexander, Alexander Hexller.

Hexller jumped up and striked the three of them making them fall. Hexller looked around and saw more running towards him. He rushed forward once again. He's getting tired, he has to finish this as soon as he can, Hexller stopped on his tracks. He whispered,

Hexller: Come get some...

Five more men charged Hexller with their spears, he ducked as one of them tried to stab him in the head. He grabbed the spear on top of his head while the man is still holding the spear and him it towards another man. He made a spinning kick hitting the the ones on his left and on his right. Hexller charged towards the rest of his enemies. There were three of those archers up front, he striked the one in the middle on it's head with his staff as he jumped and kicked the two on his side at the same time. There are still more up ahead. Two of the archers from the back managed to hit Hexller on both of his shoulders, making it hurt whenever he moves his arm, its bad for him for he cant use his weapon properly now. Hexller pulled both of the arrows at the same time as he ran, the pain is increasing. Hexller managed to kicked one of them, making it slam into a tree. He tried to spin his staff although the wounds he received affected his arm speed, he'll need to relay on kicking now. Hexller then started to feel dizzy.

Hexller: T-those arrows, t-there must s-some kind of poison o-or s-s....

Hexller managed to kick one last enemy sending him flying, then Hexller fell on his knees and fell asleep on the ground. The tribesmen carried him away to their tribe after they made sure he's fallen deep asleep.

The place is dark and there was only one light illuminating two figures in the dark. They may only be silhouettes but Hexller knows for sure it was his parents.

Hexller: Mom?! Dad?!

They did not hear his call, Hexller started to run towards them but it felt like he was not moving. As he kept on running towards them, they got farther away. Hexller stopped on his tracks as the ground in which the two silhouettes stand started to rise, it was a flatform.

Hexller: Mom! Dad!

Hexller tried to run again but he cant even move a muscle now. As the flatform stopped from rising two silhouettes of men started to slowly close in on his parents. As the two men started to get even closer to his parents the light also starts to vanish. He tried to shout again but there were no sound coming out of his mouth. Until it went completely dark, a sound of two swords clashing together were heard, Hexller bursts in tears.

Then he woke up....

Hexller woke up in a jolt. He noticed that his eyes were wet with tears, he tried to wipe it but he was all tied up in a wooden pole. He looked around and saw a group of people gathered around him, the place seems to be a small tribe of people. A tribesman from the crowd approached him.

Tribesman: The elder will have to speak to you, he will decide on what to do to you.

Hexller: What elder! Do what!? Let me go!

A scraggy old man with long white beard then emerged from the crowd. He scanned Hexller as he slowly walk around him. Hexller is confused as to what is happening.

Tribe Elder: Hmmm....

Hexller: And who are you now?

Tribe Elder: It doesn't matter. Well.. You did put up quite a fight back there...

The tribe elder then approached one of the tribesman and whispered to him as he looked at Hexller.

Tribesman: The outsider shall go to the arena!

The people cheered and shouted after hearing these words. Hexller is confused as to what is currently happening, he's getting nervous on to what these people can possibly do to him. Suddenly, men carried the wooden pole in which Hexller is tied on to, everyone there followed. They then reached to a stop and dropped Hexller face first into what seems like a huge circular arena of sorts. People occupied the seats and cheered as one of the tribesman announced the match.

Tribesman: We all know what we do to outsiders here in our island! We all know what will happen to this man! Today we will witness this outsider as he battle our one and only Timmurri!

The crowd cheered even louder after the announcer spoke. Hexller got even more confused, he struggled to turn his face to the side to scan the area. There were bones of what looks like people on the ground scattered all over the place. On the other side of the arena, two men slowly raised a gate which seems to keep something big inside. Then something came out, a gigantic boar with wings. Hexller struggled to get out of his bonds.

Hexller: I'm still tied up in here! Get me out of this pole!

Tribesman: Oh, it'll get off soon.

Hexller: Wha-

The boar charged towards him and stepped on the pole on his back which immediately broke, Hexller coughed and struggled to get up after the attack. It was heavier and stronger than he expected, he considered the fact that he has the lower hand of the fight since he doesn't have his weapon on him, but he has to fight. Hexller took a piece of the broken pole and hugged it with both of his hands. Hexller charged the boar with the broken pole piece, attempting to pierce through the gigantic boar. When he is almost there to the boar, it quickly flew up and circled around in the sky before it pounded Hexller as it landed.

Hexller: It really isn't my day, is it?

The boar stood up once again and started to drag Hexller around the arena this time as he held tight to the broken pole piece he has. The crowd cheered as Hexller hit the walls of the arena. Hexller struggled to stand up, using the broken pole piece as support. The boar flew up once more and started to cirlce around the sky. Hexller readied the pole piece he was holding, wishing that it can act as good as his staff. As the boar charged downwards towards Hexller, Hexller shouted,

Hexller: Rapid Spin!

Hexller dodged towards the left and started to rapidly spin the pole at the boar. The pole piece was harder to spin than his staff, it was heavier and bigger. Although, the pole hits harder, it had hit the boar several times and on its back severely damaging its wings. It fell down, the crowd gasped and shouted. The boar stood up once again looking fiercer. The crowed cheered as the boar stood up once again. The boar tried to fly but it failed to do so for its wings have been damaged. Hexller pu t a smirk on his face. It seems like all he needed was a good battle to relive him from all that stress.

Hexller: Come at me!

Hexller ran and charged the boar with the pole pointing right at it. Hexller smashed the boar's head with the pole causing it to have a rampage around the arena, ramming it's head on the walls. Then the boar flew up with all of it's strength that is left from it's injured wing. It got out of the confines of the arena, causing havoc as it attacked the crowed. Hexller may be angry at them for they tried to kill him earlier but this has to stop. Hexller climbed out of the walls chasing the boar before it destroys everything. The tribesmen were panicking, protecting the tribe elder, trying to avoid getting in the boar's way. Hexller ran to the elder together with two tribesmen protecting him.

Tribesman: You! Don't you try to hurt our leader!

Hexller: No I'm not gonna hurt him! I'll go get that boar thing before it destroys your place. If you want me to stop that, give my weapon back. That's all I need.

Tribesman: How do we know you are not lying!? You're just trying to escape, are you?!

The tribe's elder took something from his pocket and handed it over to the other man on his left.

Tribe Elder: Give this to him, he will need it to stop Timmurri.

Tribesman: What? But..

The elder glared at the man and it gave the staff to Hexller.

Tribesman: We'll still keep our eye on you..

Hexller: Thank's much appreciated!

Hexller then ran towards where the boar went as he extended it out after he kissed his staff.

Hexller: Why am I even saving these people? I should run away when I still have the chance.

Hexller started running towards the opposite direction. Without knowing it the boar was already chasing him from behind. Hexller was tackled by the boar and sent him flying towards a tree, slamming on it hard. His head bleeding, Hexller slowly stood up and faced the boar.

Hexller: I guess I have no choice then huh?

Hexller jumped on top of the boar and rode it. The boar flew violently with Hexller on its back, trying to shake him violently. Hexller held on the boar's fur tightly and trying to keep balance at the same time. Hexller used his staff to repeatedly strike the boar's side. Hexller took a final bone crushing blow with his staff and the boar crashed down together with Hexller. They landed on what once was a house, but now, it's nothing but rubble. Hexller kicked the boar to check if it's dead, and it is. Hexller stood up, using his staff as support, there was a few seconds of awful silence from the crowd around him, staring with surprise at him, It's like they saw a ghost or something. Then, the crowd cheered and clapped, Hexller was confused. At first, they wanted to kill him, now, they are cheering and clapping for him.

Tribesman: A worthy warrior!

Hexller: What?

The look of confusion is clearly visible on Hexller's face. It was a big and fast turn of events. He wasn't sure as to what to think about it but he went with it. One of the tribesmen held Hexller arm and dragged him away.

Hexller: Whatcha gonna do to me now!?

Tribesman: You must see the elder!

Everyone on their way was whispering. Hexller caught some words such as "Could he be?" and "I' need to crap." They stopped in front of a much bigger hut, a few times bigger than those normal ones. The tribesman told him to enter alone, and so he did.

He entered the hut, it looked more different than he expected from the outside. It was looking great inside. There was a bear hide carpet neatly laid down on the floor. On the front was the elder's desk and chair which the elder sat on, it looked more like an interview for Hexller. He sat on the bamboo chair in front of the elder's wooden desk. Hexller looked at the elder, they both waited for other to start talking, Hexller decided to start it before it gets too long.

Hexller: Comfy place you got here. So mister uhmmm... mister elder guy, why did you have me dragged over here?

He looked at the walls in which the elder's collection of shiny confiscated weapons hung. He was glad that his staff wasn't something to add to the collection.u

Elder Tentu: Thank you for the compliment. Please call me Elder Tentu.

Hexller: Yeah, Tentu... Anyway Elder Tentu, why have you dragged me here?

Hexller tried to soften his voice a bit and sound a bit more polite. He wouldn't want to offend or startle the old man, what's more is that he doesn't want to get attacked by the guards after enraging the old man. Hexller swallowed and waited for the elder to respond.

Elder Tentu: You were strong enough to defend yourself from my warriors. You were even strong enough to destroy Timmurri. You see these weaponry on the walls? Those came from outsiders who were unlucky enough to be Timmurri's lunch... or breakfast, or dinner, it really depends on the time. Anyway, I believe you are a worthy warrior, the strongest outsider I have met so far.

Hexller: And so? What if I'm a worthy warrior?

Elder Tentu: I would like to ask you to do something, more like a task from me. You see there are two nearby islands,

Elder Tentu stood and took out a rolled map from a rack and slammed it on top of the desk. It was a drawn map of two nearby islands. Elder Tentu pointed his walking stick at the island on the right

Elder Tentu: You see this one is Tiammon, this is where you are currently. This is our home.

He then pointed his walking stick on the island at the left and circled it as if it's important. Hexller payed attention to the old man's words.

Elder Tentu: This is Ammon, the enemy's home. We were at war before, obviously it was unknown by the outsiders. It was until it's agreed by both sides to stay away from the other's territory. The one who entered the other shall be killed on sight. Now, few weeks before you came, they have stolen one of our island's prized possessions, the fruit of the gods. I want you to retrieve it.

Hexller: Why not just ask your warriors to go there, I'm sure sending me out, a single one person, would be worse than sending a whole army.

Elder Tentu: If I send my warriors as an army, a war would wage once more. It would be very much bad indeed. But you, an outsider, they won't know about us sending you there, well... As long as you keep quiet about us that is. I wouldn't want bloodshed to happen but wouldn't want to loose it and just let it be handed over to the enemy.

Hexller: I see... But what do I get in return?

Elder Tentu: I assure you one thing. There is a prize, and it would be great. A worthy prize for someone who saves our prized possession.

Hexller clutched tighter on his seat. He would want that prize for sure. He would also like these tribesmen to know his name. He had made his mind he's....

Hexller: Accepting the task, I'm accepting it. So, what's the plan?

Elder Tentu: The description would be stated by one of my guards, a boat is provided to sail over there, as well as some necessary materials.

No turning back now. He's accepted it and is probably in danger, who knows what's inside that other island. He's still not quite sure on what is exactly happening but what's more important is that he has a task to do and there is a prize to claim.
