Triad Form |
Martial Art √ Johan's main fighting style revolves around acrobatic movements, designed to be as flexible and adaptable as possible. He foregoes using rigid stances for more angular and mobile maneuvers. This makes movement and keen reflexes important traits to have, along with his physical strength and creativity. Though Triad Style does not have any established stances or rules, it uniqueness comes from 3 solid techniques in particular that are very hard to master and from which it derives its name.
The 3 special techniques he has conceived are named 'Kamai', 'Otegine', and 'OOO'
- Skill Strengths:
- Close Combat √ Triad Form specializes in closing gaps and fighting up close and personal. It emphasizes skill and fast reflexes combined with minor applications of physical strength.
Body Rotation √ Triad Form is a martial art that specializes in high speed body rotation to increase the strength and speed of its attacks. Its high-impact maneuvers can easily tear through ordinary fighters with all the strength and ferocity of a tornado. There are also several hidden secrets to body rotation in Triad Form that Johan can use to almost superhuman effect and are nearly imperceptible, though tricky to master and use properly.
Evasion √ As Johan is constantly in motion, his flowing movements and slight stature make it easier for him to detect incoming attacks early and evade them. Triad form is designed to keep his body as fluid and reactive as possible. It relies heavily on having preternatural reflexes and a great deal of finesse.
Gun Proficiency √ Though Triad Form is mainly a martial arts style, Johan is able to wield a rifle for mid-range combat and when engaging large numbers of enemies.
- Skill Weaknesses:
- Long-Range Combat √ Triad Style works best when the enemy also doesn't have a way to attack from afar or is too slow to react when he closes the gap. This weakness is mitigated somewhat by Johan's reflexes and finesse, but he rarely is able to take the offensive against opponents who can attack him from across long distances.
Roller Coaster √ Dubbed the 'Roller Coaster effect' by Johan, continuous spinning can cause his balance to slowly degrade. This can occur in lengthy battles and makes it more favorable to Johan if he can swiftly end fights and more to his disadvantage if an opponent is able to draw it out. Training in Triad Form requires getting used to rabid rotation, but it isn't a perfect solution.
Armor √ Triad Form tends to perform very poorly against armored targets as its primary facility is speed and agility. Most sturdy armors are able to resist Johan's attacks and shrug them off.
Swordsman √ Swordsman are a very bad match for Johan since they can be awkward to fight and have a longer reach. In certain territories, Johan will make use of his other abilities to fight swordsmen since spinning around usually throws off the expert timing needed to dodge most attacks by several fractions of a second. This differs between the type of swordsman however.
Level 1 Abilities
Sagojou

Johan can shoot at his enemy like a torpedo, barraging his target with multiple knife hand strikes and kicks as it connects. A second application is that he can spin his body in place to generate a brief whirlwind to block simple projectiles. He calls these variations: Ravine and Bulwark.
Ability Lvl 1 Strengths:
- Destructive ♦ The Sagojou's speed of rotation can easily tear through trees, flimsy objects, and simple non-metal fortifications. It is also capable of shredding or crippling Level 1 Equipment that it comes in contact with.
Barrier Rotation ♦ With ferocious speed, Johan can easily disrupt the paths of simple non-metal projectiles and possibly tear them to pieces. These include breakable objects, like fragile glass and flimsy bits of wood.
Quickspeed ♦ Much like Johan himself, Sagojou is an aggressive and unrelenting technique. It is fast and grants him a wider field of vision.
Ability Lvl 1 Weaknesses:
- Leg Strength ♦ The trick to Sagojou is that it relies heavily on Johan's leg strength, meaning that it becomes less effective if either of his legs have been hurt or injured.
Slippery ♦ Usually, using Sagojou in cold climates and on ice is a bad idea. The large amounts of momentum needed can cause very painful accidents. Though this can help him maintain his body temperature in such frigid conditions.
Movement ♦ While he has a greater degree of vision while rotating, Johan's ability to move freely is impaired and it is harder to dodge and evade concentrated attacks.
Kamai

Ability Lvl 1 Strengths:
- Escape ♦ The technique is ideal for dodging attacks and escaping traps when in a pinch.
Shadow ♦ The flitting movement briefly obscures Johan's very form and identity, allowing him to move as a silhouette and act as a distraction to pursuers. Also unlike Soru, Kamai is completely silent if executed correctly.
Movement ♦ While requiring a good deal of agility to eliminate noise, Kamai allows Johan to flit quickly over the battlefield and cross a good deal of space before enemies can sometimes react. In addition, Johan can mix in other maneuvers as he vaults through the air.

OOO ♦
Vision ♦ Much like its counterpart, Johan's vision is diminished as he vaults through the air, though he can still see where he will end up and keep track of his surroundings. In particular, his peripheral vision suffers greatly by using Kamai, making his flanks easier to approach.
Ryubi

Ability Lvl 1 Strengths:
- Range ♦ Though still limited in its reach, Johan's hair extends longer than his arm. It grants him an unconventional & surprise advantage in combat.
Whip ♦ Ryubi is a flexible technique; able to restrain as well as strike at foes and buffet others without causing a large amount of damage. It is particularly useful against airborne foes.
Offensive & Defensive ♦ Finally, the technique may be used both for offensive and defensive tactics. Johan can swing and manipulate his hair to hit targets in a wide arc as well as knock away projectiles.
Ability Lvl 1 Weaknesses:
- Vulnerable ♦ Using his hair as a weapon makes him vulnerable as anyone who is able to grab the tail can drive him to the ground.
Power ♦ Though still moderately strong, there isn't much in the way of brute force.
Elevation ♦ The technique loses utility when targets are on a lower plain from him or are also exceptionally mobile.
