    Yanarou, Miyata 435697-rin_okumura_render2_by_railgunlv5_d3gi7qi

    Name: Miyata Yanarou
    Epithet: Devil's Spawn
    Age: 15
    Gender: Male
    Race: Human
    Sexuality: Heterosexual

    Affiliation: Marine
    Occupation: Swordsman

Appearance: Miyata stands at 5'8'' with a slim, athletic build, with an arrogant stance perfectly complimenting his personality. He is often seen dressed in a unique variation of a typical marine uniform. It's mostly dark shades of blue, hand-made and expensive looking. Contradictory to his uniform Miyata’s hair is rough and messy looking, as though he’s simply just woken up and gave his hair a quick wash not bothering to comb or check in the mirror. Miyata has what you could call an odd appearance, his ears are pointed like an elf, and his canine teeth are longer and sharper than you’d normally be familiar with.
    Hair Color: Dark
    Skin Tone: Light
    Height: 5'8''
    Weight: 139lbs

Personality/Behavior/Habits: If Miyata were to be described in one word, the only suitable fit would be ‘Confident’. Specifically ‘Over-Confident, verging on Annoyingly Arrogant’. Although he isn’t the kind to act without thinking, he often underestimates a situation when his judgment has been clouded by emotion. He’s not one to cause an unnecessary dispute but you can rest assured he’s one to finish it. Combat is where he tends to shine the most. Smart and Aggressive. He wouldn’t hesitate to kill if he had to, and in fact is rather used to it. His merciless nature towards his enemies has given him his nickname. Miyata doesn’t fight the weak and defenceless, nor would he willingly help them. There are three main things Miyata actually cares about; keeping his promises, keeping his morals, and keeping his life. Everything else is nothing but an after-thought. He can often come across as a snob due to his wealthy heritage and the fact that he doesn’t really care much if he makes friends or not doesn’t help his image.

Miyata is hard working; he values both his loyalty to other and other’s loyalty to him, the latter being more preferable. Miyata always aims for the top, confident that he can overcome any and all obstacles. He’s mostly right. Working as part of the marines his main goal has been to rise up the ranks and prove he’s unique from all others before him. He attempts to see most situations as business and tries to keep emotions out of it. In summary he’s; Loyal, Confident, Smart, Aggressive and ultimately Dependable.

History: Born to a wealthy family Miyata found himself rather privileged during his early life. His parents had originally expected his pointed ears, and sharp canine teeth to cause him some trouble making friends with other kids his age but on the contrary they actually made him fascinating to the others. The first few years of Miyata’s life zipped by like a dream. He had all you could wish for his age; family, friends, and anything material that he wanted. There was only one way life could go for a child as well-off as he was. Downhill. Miyata’s mansion of a house was raided by numerous bandits, pirates and bounty hunters throughout his whole life but none were ever successful thanks to some top-grade security. None until Miyata turned Eight. The house was attacked by something Miyata had only heard about from the other kid’s rumours. Stories had circulated the town of men that had the power to physically split the sea, spit fire and anything any man could think of. Fictional stories that on that day were proven factual because the house security guards all fell to one man with a power he’d never seen before. The devil fruits’ power. The man took over his mansion and let his underlings wreak havoc on the household. Both his mother and father lost their lives to the man as a result. Miyata became a prisoner aboard the man ships, and he wasn’t the only one. The man had raided the town shortly after killing Miyata’s parents and imprisoned children to be servants upon his ship. Young, weak and easily controllable they made the best candidates to take care of menial tasks such as cleaning and cooking.

After Four years aboard that ship Miyata had been christened the ‘Devil’s Spawn’. This was due to his apparent merciless nature towards his captors. In the Four years Miyata had been imprisoned he had; killed over Thirty of his captors crew, made over Two Hundred failed attempts on the life of the man who killed his parents and earned the respect as well as the admiration of his fellow prisoners. Despite Miyata’s assassination attempts on him the Man that killed his parents forbid the rest of the crew from killing Miyata, his reason to do so was never made clear but no one dared to oppose him. Instead they would punish Miyata by torturing him by holding his head under water which lead to his fear of drowning. Locking him up on his own for weeks on end with very little food leading to his fear of Isolation. All these punishments had almost killed Miyata at one time or another, leading to his fear of an untimely or unexpected death. Despite all this Miyata never stopped and was in fact planning another assassination attempt during his time in isolation. This time he had a trump card to play. The reason he was in isolation this time was because of his recent excavation into the ship’s treasury room. An excavation that had proven very fruitful for him, no pun intended, because in his search for spare swords and guns Miyata had found himself a greater weapon in a devil fruit he happened by. His conclusion was that it had been missed by one of the inept captors in charge of bringing in the most recent collection of booty.

At first Miyata was oblivious to the power of the devil fruit but it soon proved to be more than useful. With the aid of the devil fruit and the element of surprise on his side he was able to not only escape his metal bonds but also managed to stay inconspicuous till the ship reached a port. Miyata managed to escape when the ship made anchor, he knew it’d be there at least a week so he sort out to get in contact with some help. Miyata was able to inform some local marines that weren’t too keen on helping until he enlightened them on the child imprisonment situation. He was in luck because a few extra squads had recently stopped by, the pirates were outnumbered. Miyata used the inevitable confusion from the clash of swords and gunfire to get close to the man that killed his parents. His vengeance was short and quick. Four years of captivity had ended in one swipe of his blade. The battle was over, he was victorious. With nothing else to live for Miyata decided to take refuge on the island at least until he could figure out where to go to next. He joined the local ranks of marine whilst he did so, though he was not expecting that he would grow to enjoy it. Miyata spent his next few years training and honing his skills with the marine, known in that small village as a local hero for saving so many children from captivity. He had been awarded with an expensive looking uniform sewn by a few of the villagers and previous captives. The uniform wasn’t necessarily regulation but none of the other marine seemed to mind. He had deserved the right to wear it proudly and it served as a reminder of what he had prevailed through.
