Name: Tyson Mikal
Epithet: "The Lion"
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Race: Human
Sexuality: Straight
Affiliation: Pirate
Occupation: Fighter
Appearance:
Tyson is a relatively large man with a respectably toned physique. Though not overly bulky, he clearly shows signs of a man who regularly engages in strenuous exercise with the most notable areas being his particularly well developed shoulders, back and core. Despite possessing a strong jaw, his facial features are rather smooth with everything tapering to a noticeable point. Preferring a shorter, more easily managed style, Tyson keeps his blond hair cut short, casually brushing it back save for a few rebellious locks in the front. In terms of clothing, Tyson prefers darker, slightly formal patterns. His more frequently seen outfit consists of dark red slacks with a black dress shirt (the sleeves having been rolled up to just below the elbows) and black ankle high boots. On colder occasions, Tyson dons his beloved, worn leather coat with a soft fur lining.
Hair Color: Blond
Skin Tone: Pale Caucasian
Height: Six feet, four inches
Weight: 195 pounds
Personality:
Tyson is a highly reserved man, a trait stemming from his particularly isolated childhood. A classic introvert, Tyson has great difficulty in quickly opening up to people, often saying little during conversations unless he finds something particularly important to add. Despite his initial quiet nature, Tyson deeply treasures the relationships he does have and quickly cultivates a fierce loyalty to his select group of friends, attempted to serve as a dependable source of support and encouragement. A gifted learner, most things came easy to Tyson early in life and because of this he can quickly become frustrated at failure. Adding to this is his perfectionist nature constantly driving him toward self improvement for the sake of self improvement. Though useful at times, his need to succeed his own admittedly unreasonable expectations has created an underlying feeling of churning anger which the normally stoic Tyson calls forth in full when fighting and serves as a cathartic release for him. Though not a genius by any stretch of the imagination, he is highly observant and very skilled at reading people. His greatest love is without a doubt martial arts. Having trained since he was a child, Tyson constantly polishes his skills while seeking out new techniques to add into his arsenal.

Behavior/Habits:
Cracks his knuckles often, cracks his neck and rolls his shoulders before exercise or a fight, presses his knuckles against his lips when deep in thought. Sleeps on his side. Prefers alternative and classic rock music, especially when running and training. Particularly bad morning person. Quite fond of naps. Loves old kung fu movies. Takes long, hot showers daily. Prefers Fall weather with a particular fondness for rain though he enjoys reading outside on sunny days. He is not a huge drinker but he does enjoy a good scotch. He finds smoking (both the habit and the smell) disgusting. He hates repeating himself. A dedicated martial artist, he trains daily through various means and focuses his weight training and other exercise on sharpening his body for martial arts. His favorite moves are upward hooking punches to an opponents rib cage and high elbow strikes to the temple.
History:
Born to an upper middle class family in the South Blue, Tyson lived out a painfully boring childhood. Having married late in life his parents only had one child and were convinced that they would never be able to have another. Because of this, they quickly became exceedingly overprotective of young Tyson, preferring to keep him inside as much as possible to avoid getting hurt. Cut off from most people his own age and sent to tutors for his education, Tyson gradually developed an old soul, interacting much easier with adults than he did with those his own age. When the time eventually came for him to enter into school with other children, Mikal found himself hopelessly awkward around them, a fact not helped by his frail build.
Before long, Tyson managed to find himself his own pack of bullies who readily mocked his slender frame and poor social skills. Eventually the constant mocking forced a change in the young man who had come to look upon his body with disdain. To silence their taunting permanently, Tyson threw himself into physical training. Convincing his parents that he felt unprotected while on his own, he asked to be taught some form of self-defense. Eager to assist their son as best they could, the Mikals turned to a long time family friend and former marine living on the island. Having led a respectable career in his day, the old man was a more than capable teacher who was happy to beat the young Mikal into a proper fighter.
It was by no means a quick process but slowly the years passed and young Tyson grew in both size and strength, gradually mastering the techniques and mentality his teacher had worked so tirelessly to plant within him. His old traces of insecurity and bashfulness abandoned, Tyson had fallen in love with martial arts and burned with the desire to broaden his horizons and craft a new style all his own. Knowing that even now his family would appose his departure with all their power, Tyson took matters into his own hands and left his home early one morning leaving only a heartfelt farewell note for his kin and teacher. Buying his way onto a merchant vessel heading north, Tyson prepared himself for the first steps of his new life.
