Equipment Description: A black overcoat that is finely stitched, with golden linings along the sleeves, the buttons and on the shoulder flaps. This overcoat has many deep pockets as well, which will almost always appear full of something. The appearance of the overcoat is nothing short of majestic.
Equipment Significance: This overcoat belonged to the an ancestor of Gray’s father’s former captain. It was said that the man who first wore this coat, was known all over East Blue as one of the fiercest pirates. This man was also known for his strength and a fearsome spirit. It is believed that the fiery spirit of that man was imbued in to this coat. The coat was passed down in his line until Gray’s father’s former captain was executed. Before his execution, he passed this coat along to his most trusted crew-mate, Gray’s father. But as Gray’s father never found any use for it, he entrusted it to Gray as a parting gift when Gray left Loguetown. This coat signifies the spirit and strength of a long line of pirates, but not only that, it also signifies the bond and trust between crew-mates.
Equipment Strength:
+ Gives +25 strength to the user.
+ The user becomes immune to cold climate and any de-buffs from cold-based attacks through the fiery spirit imbued in the coat.
+ Every 10 posts, the user can obtain the “Ancestor’s courage” buff, which gives a +5 to endurance.
Equipment Weaknesses:
- This coat does not give any physical protection from damages whatsoever.
- Ice-based or any other “cold” attacks and such still do the normal amount of damage.
- The user receives a -5 strength when going against fire-based opponents.
