Though she is considerably more withdrawn after the murder of her parents, she still loves and cares deeply for her friends, especially her adoptive brother and friend, seeing them as the last remnants of a family she cannot afford to lose. Her personality as a teenager is very much influenced and molded by her adoptive brother (Ryuu), who told her she stood no chance of survival if she did not fight for it. His words continue to stay with her, and her mind automatically recalls them to spur her on when she is close to death. Her determination to protect Ryuu as much as possible may also have contributed greatly to her phenomenal skills as a soldier. Though she is among the best of the best, she remains humble and refrains from putting on airs or displaying arrogance.
Satsumi has a strong sense of right and wrong, but she is also very protective of her adoptive younger sister (Erika) and does all she can to advise him to follow what she deems to be the right track. Despite that, she knows well that she cannot always sway Erika in her decisions and makes a point to follow Erika to almost everywhere he goes and stick by whatever final decisions she makes, just so that she can be around to help Satsumi out when she is in trouble. Yet for all her blind loyalty, Satsumi is quite stoic and level-headed. Her will is remarkably strong, and she is rarely seen to lose her cool or be at a loss of what to do, no matter how bleak a situation seems to be. Even when she believed Riku to be dead, outwardly she managed to remain so calm that only her deceased friend could tell that she was battling with the pain of losing her brother. However, she is not completely immune to the effects of her emotions. Her strong feelings for Riku, particularly when he is in harm's way, does at times cloud her judgement - sometimes at the expense of other peoples' well-being. A notable example is the occasion she briefly gave into her grief over Riku's apparent demise and lost the will to live - forgetting her responsibility for the lives of the soldiers she had taken upon herself to lead in the process.
When it was discovered that Riku was in fact alive and well during the Battle of his crew mates and the marines, Satsumi's cool facade broke, and she openly wept in relief while clinging to his body. Since that experience, her protectiveness of Riku has become more pronounced. Satsumi will now stop at nothing to keep him safe, to the point of being willing to kill anyone who threatens his life and developing vengeful grudges towards those who harm him. She relentlessly attacked the Female Marine in a murderous fury as it attempted to abduct Riku, and later assaulted another marine with her blades for trying to do the same. When she discovered that the two had managed to make off with Riku and had gotten a five hour head start while she was knocked unconscious, Satsumi was disconsolate and began to cry at the thought of once again losing Riku. However, even when Satsumi gives in to her sadness, it does not take much to snap her out of it, as she never truly gives up all hope.
Satsumi also has a habit of blushing or expressing embarrassment when others make certain assumptions about her relationship with Ryuu. Her face flushed when her aunt mistook Ryuu for her sweetheart during the visit of Satsumi on her house with him.
Despite the independence and strength Satsumi has gained, Riku still remains a great source of comfort and reassurance to her. She cherishes the scarf he gave her on the day they met, constantly wearing it unless the weather is too warm, and nuzzles her nose to it whenever she is upset. She is thankful to him for coming into her life, saving her from a horrible fate, and teaching her how to keep on living. She is willing to face death if it is for his sake, and is also able to smile and accept it, as long as she is beside him.

History: In a very young age Satsumi's real parents died because of the richness of their family back then after that incident Satsumi got shocked because her parents were killed in front of her own eyes. Her adoptive brother Ryuu killed the other murderers in attempt to save her but when he gets to kill the other one, he didn't succeed so Satsumi did the thing for him. Satsumi was blamed of the killing when they reported it to the Marines, she was supposed to be imprisoned but since she's super young they just let her be, when Satsumi asked on how would they find the mastermind behind all of this , the Marine Captain answered with a harsh tone, he answered that it's none of their business anymore.
With that answer Satsumi got angry and threw tantrums at him for what they call justice is a fraud, with that Satsumi got kicked out of the Marine base with Ryuu. Ryuu offered Satsumi to live with him, Satsumi looked at him in utter shock, Ryuu suddenly realized on what he said and says to her that it's not what she thinks and explains to her on what she meant.
6 years passed and Satsumi seemed to be learning lots of things on the normal world and got close to her adoptive family. Satsumi is very close to her adoptive siblings especially to Riku and Erika. On that time Ryuu was travelling with his father back at 4 years ago and still was travelling with him until the present time.
2 years later and Satsumi's adoptive family got murdered , her friends died protecting her. She found out that it wasn't the only wealthiness of their family they want but also her since she is said to be the Pendulum.
After that she never have contact to anyone, she joins the marine and quit after she got promoted to a Marine Captain. She only wants to train with the Marines not to be with them. 1 year later she trains on her own everyday in the forest not caring if she's gonna be dead or not. She later then realized that training on a forest is never enough since she lacks in armors and weapons. She went out of the forest and sees the outside world again, she never trusted anyone anymore. For her to continue living she steals money, gold and treasures on pirates, nobles and other civilians.
She used that money for equipments to create her weapon.
4 years passed (aka the present time) she lost her hand-made equipment in the deepest part of the ocean while she's travelling on a boat and was attacked by a giant fish, luckily she was still alive at that time since she already dropped her 'high caliber sniper dual scythe' when the fish attacked at the bottom of her boat. She still managed to swim to an island full of people and bought a sword.
Also, she learned to cook when she was only 3 years old.
