Personality: Chēn loves romance stories. Despite the fact most people would see him (in the rare times he is still) reading an action, comedy or fantasy/sci-fi manga, there is a better chance for him to actually be reading a romance, just hidden by a fake cover. On the off chance that he cracks a book outside of school, it's likely to be romance as well. The truth about the fake covers isn't that Chēn is ashamed; as a matter of fact, Chēn doesn't get the problem people have with a guy reading such books. However, punks have a tendency to use such things as a starter for fights. But when Chēn isn't fighting he is often reading up on blacksmithing having it been a big part of his life since he was 10

Behavior/Habits: Chēn is an even mix of introvert and extrovert this means that while he doesn't like talking much he is more than willing to get into conversations with people if he feels in the mood. He has a habit of running off on his own if something strikes his fancy (mostly weapons) and will become extremely entranced if he finds a rare weapon. When he meets another blacksmith he most likely will get into a heated argument with them. He is quite often getting into fights with people over romance novels as he loves them and believes himself to be something of a ladies man.
History: At the age of 4 Chēn was sold off by his parents as they were too poor to feed him, he was sold into slavery and was forced into hard manual labor. He was given poor living conditions and made to work 15 hours a day with only 1 meal of pasta and milk a day even so he endured this until he was 6 when one day he was working and another worker stated a fight with him over some pasta and stabbed Chēn in the right eye with his fork. After 2 months in the infirmary Chēn was deemed unfit for anymore labor and chucked out in the streets where he had to sleep in the cold and steal food for himself.

When he was 10 Chēn attempted to steal some cheese and meat from a nearby house but was caught and punished, he was thrown onto the streets again only this time with a broken leg, he dragged himself as far as he could before he passed out, he woke up and saw and old man who nursed him back to health and eventually took Chēn on as an apprentice black smith.

Chēn turned 15 and the old man decided that his training was over and sent Chēn out into the world to make it on his own.
