Luca has never been a fan of the standard marine outfit. He much prefers his own, equally formal style of clothing- a suit. Luca’s suits are always black and perfectly fitting. Under the suit jacket he wears a loosely buttoned white dress shirt featuring a black cow print. He always wears black dress shoes with this outfit, despite usually having to take them off to fight properly. Being the lover of fashion that he his Luca has a large variety of other clothes for different situations. This black suit is simply his default outfit.

Luca is quite thin, yet slightly muscular from his years of martial arts training. His eyes are bright green. Luca has a small scar under his left eye that resembles a hash sign. As a Bilkan he also has two small, angel-like white wings on his back curving downwards.

Personality:

Luca is a cheerful and charismatic young man. He is easy going and keeps a cool head almost all of the time.  Luca cares little of the status quo, doing things for his own benefit. Luca’s happy personality is a result his insecurities. Being the only child in a ‘family’ full of wildly enthusiastic men Luca has always felt as though he needed to struggle to be heard, and as a result can be quite a loud young man. He tends to get much more boisterous around people he considers good friends, maintaining a calm and polite demeanor around most strangers/acquaintances.

Luca has never struggled to make friends. People tend to be drawn his positive nature, and he generally enjoys their company. As a general rule, Luca seems to know of or has heard of just about everyone in the marines, and has the potential to be friends with at least half.

Though he can act like a bit of an airhead, Luca is by no means unintelligent. He can actually be quite critical of what people do and say, although he never actually criticizes his friends aloud. He can be quite rude his enemies however.

Luca prefers to keep the more unpleasant sides of himself, such as anger, hidden from others. If he does loose his untroubled composure he prefers to disappear rather than deal with it.

Never having had any friends his age Luca learnt to find entertainment through listening to conversations. He is fond of talking, almost to a fault- occasionally not knowing when to be quiet.

From his time learning ballet, Luca has developed the habit of dancing at random moments. He usually does then when particularly bored or when a conversation/moment gets awkward. His dance form on these occasions is always a spinning pirouette.

Luca is incredibly talented at finding discounts in stores, especially those in the retail business. Something about him just makes the owners want him to try on their wares and sell them to him, no matter the cost. This causes him to often return from shopping trips with ridiculous amounts of clothing.

History:

Luca never knew his parents. He was abandoned as a baby in the forests of Skypiea. The only thing he knows about his parents is that they must have been Bilkan’s like him, due to the shape of his wings. Luca was only in the forest for a few hours when a dance troupe going for their morning jog happened to come across him. His parents had at least been kind enough to leave him on a well-traveled road in the hopes of being discovered. Delighted by baby Luca, who was a sweet infant, the dancer’s decided to take him home with them. These people were Okama, a hidden band living in the depths of the Skypiean forest. Their base was a large, many floored mansion. Growing up with the Okama was a surprisingly beneficial experience for Luca. He learnt positive ideals, such as acceptance and picked up charismatic nature. Luca also gained a very important ability- how to fight. The Okama paradise had been created many generations by travelers from the Blue Sea. These men were masters of the martial art ‘Okama Kenpo’. Naturally it became extremely popular with the Okama Skypieans and was quickly learnt. Luca was taught this skill, training diligently in both ballet and karate from a very early age. When he was eighteen a turning point was made in Luca’s life. Not being an Okama himself, Luca was free to visit the other areas of Skypiea without prosecution. While on one of these trips he was kidnapped by a pirate crew who had made their way to the sky islands from the Blue Sea. Intending to sell him as a slave, they took Luca back with them to the ocean below. While tied up in the cargo hold next to the rest of the pirates loot Luca discovered an interesting fruit. Since food didn't seem to be coming anytime soon he ate it. Luckily a marine squad immediately caught the pirates. The marines incarcerated them and freed Luca. Not being able to get back home, Luca decided to join his saviors. Renaming his fighting style ‘Ballet Kenpo’ Luca became one of the marines, beginning his adventures in the Blue Sea.
